MP3 and FLAC, tags read properly — ID3 or Vorbis, embedded covers, old rips with only a v1 trailer, even the fields other players drop. Pick a folder once; it survives reboots and reinstalls.

EQ + SPECTRUM

A 5-band EQ wired into the actual audio path, and an 8-bit spectrum slapped over the sleeve — computed from the sound, not an animation. Tap the bars on the cover and watch your music.

NO PHONE HOME

Zero accounts, zero analytics — the app doesn’t even hold the network permission, so it couldn’t phone home if it wanted to. Your library sits in an encrypted database, and your playlists leave only as M3U8 files you export yourself. There’s a reason we’re like this ›

The phone is one portrait artboard. A tablet is a different surface — it rotates, and it gets two compositions of its own instead of a stretched phone. Landscape puts UP NEXT right beside the player, where all that glass finally earns something.

No store, no stream — LOUD plays files, so the files have to get to the phone once. It’s easier than you remember, and you only do it when your collection grows.

OVER WI-FI

LocalSend — free and open-source, like AirDrop between anything: Windows, Mac, Linux, Android, iPhone. Send the folder, no cable, no cloud in the middle. Our favourite route, for reasons you can guess.

BY CABLE

Plug an Android phone in and copy the folder — straight from Explorer on Windows, via OpenMTP on a Mac, built into the file manager on Linux. On iPhone, AirDrop or LocalSend into the Files app.

THEN PICK IT
